After almost 6 months on site, lots of interesting developments are starting to happen at Marjorie Waite Court. A key part of the extension to MWC has been to provide a new plant room capable of suppling both the new and existing apartments with their heating, electric, ventilation and water. To achieve this, we have had to build the new plant room in advance of the main building extension in order that we can demolish the existing plant room which currently stands in the way of the new extension. This has been a complex and delicate operation but despite this, we are nearing completion and hoping to make the switchover for the existing building in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, we have been constructing 2 new bungalows at the site which are on schedule to complete before Christmas and also completing the new entrance to the centre, which will be relocated to face Crombie Avenue, an essential part of the complex logistics which will enable us to demolish the remaining buildings. Two additional bungalows will also be built towards the end of the project, taking the total to four.
