The winter nights and cold temperatures might be here, but that hasn’t stopped the hard work on site and I’m pleased to say that works are progressing really well.
In the last update we spoke about the main build which will house the 29 apartments really starting to take shape with the first floor internal walls going in and works starting on the second floor. Since then the building has since been fully roofed and watertight from the gable end through to the lift shaft.
We have also fully completed the plantroom, where the new boiler is housed, which started running earlier this month.
It’s been a hive of activity on site, but now all the bungalows are well-progressed there is very limited space to work in. The main build is also starting to take shape, with the sports hall likely to be demolished early next year.
The plan is to move out of our current site offices in the sports hall before the Christmas break and establishing our site offices in the new bungalows for the rest of the project.
As for the site, the plan is to close for Christmas from the afternoon of Friday, December 20th, to give our hard-working teams a well-deserved break, with it back open on Monday 6th January.
On behalf of myself, Byron, Jane and all the site team, we hope you and your families have a wonderful Christmas and we look forward to giving you further updates on the development in the near future.
