Hobson & Porter has completed the onshore operations base and warehouses for Dong Energy Power (UK) to service its Westermost Rough wind farm.
The £3.4m contract involved the construction of a new two-storey office building and the refurbishment of an existing warehouse building that provides an on-shore base for the offshore wind farms, situated off the Lincolnshire coast.
It is estimated that 100 employees will be based from the offices in Eastside Road, Grimsby, for the next 25 years, operating 24 hours a day.
Dong Energy is a key partner in offshore wind developments that will contribute towards the Humber region becoming a global hub for renewable energy.
The majority of the company’s wind farms are based in North West Europe, and it has built more wind farms than any other company in the world to date.
