Grading works, topsoil and the concreting to the infill section between fence and footpaths have now been completed in respect of phase 1c, fencing works are due to be completed this week, with the handover of this phase scheduled to take place on Monday.

In respect of phase 3a, demolition works are now complete to 8, 10, 12, 14 Hilderthorpe Road as are demolition works to the front section of numbers 16 – 18. We have installed scaffolding to numbers 20-22a Hilderthorpe Road, in readiness for commencing works to take down the slate tiles and roofing. Soft stripping works are also currently underway to numbers 20-22a.

Work is currently running to programme on the Bridlington Site. We are currently carrying out top soil, reduced level and fencing works in respect of phases 1c and 1d in addition to soft stripping works in respect of phase 3c. We are due to commence building dismantling works over the forthcoming weeks.

Six new starters help Hobson & Porter go from strength to strength in 2016

2016 began in the same way 2015 ended for Hobson & Porter – in a position of great strength in the marketplace, on both sides of the Humber.

To consolidate our continued growth, we have appointed six new people over the last few weeks in a variety of roles. In our major works division:

Andrew Steeper joined us in January 2016 as a Quantity Surveyor
Jocelyn Marlow also joined us in January to take on the role of Buyer
Pete Mills also began working with us in January as Design Manager

Within our minor works division, we have taken on an Estimator – Malcolm Revell, while the transfer of Pete Shaw to the division will provide extra support in contracts management.

Paul Baker has joined us in the pivotal position of Health and Safety Manager. We were also delighted to offer Callum Normington the position of Technical Assistant in minor works. Callum initially came to us on a work placement in December 2015. We were extremely impressed with his positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills, as well as his strong all-round ability; as a result, he is now beginning his new career with Hobson & Porter.

With the new employees joining our team and as we go from strength to strength at Hobson & Porter, we look forward to the exciting year ahead.
